Elphaba
Toi et Moi Pinky Ring in 10K Gold — 1.39 ct Watermelon Tourmaline & 0.33 ct Lab Diamond, Size 4.5
One stone formed in the earth over millions of years with two colors no designer would have dared to combine. One stone grown in weeks with absolute clarity. The toi et moi negative space is the conversation between those two facts.
Elphaba is the heavier piece of the pair — a 1.39-carat emerald-cut watermelon tourmaline with deep, saturated color, the green reading through the base and pulling red toward the surface. Set opposite a 0.33-carat lab diamond in six claw prongs. The tourmaline sits in eight double-claw prongs, four on a side, gripping rather than displaying.
The 10K yellow gold is a material decision, not a concession. The color saturation of 10K reads warmer against watermelon tourmaline than 14K or 18K would — higher-karat gold brings more yellow and washes the contrast the piece relies on. The band is built for everyday pinky wear; 10K gives it the durability to take that.
These stones were chosen by eye, not by paper. The certification process describes a stone’s grades in isolation; it doesn’t tell you how a green-and-pink tourmaline reads against a lab diamond in yellow gold. For a one-of-one at this scale, the eye is the right instrument.
Ready to ship. Will not be remade.
Conceived as a pair with Glinda — sold separately, but the two only fully read with both in the world.
